DESCRIPTION:Roxboro United starts our Lenten Season with a combined Shrove Tuesday Pancake dinner hosted by Cedar Park United\, 204 Ave\, Lakeview\, Pointe-Claire from 5pm to 6:30pm. If you want to attend\, you can indicate on either Cedar Park or Roxboro’s FaceBook pages and indicate “Going” on the posted event. This is a pay as you can event. Then On Wednesday we are having a time of prayer and self care at noon as we celebrate Ash Wednesday. This service will take place in our sanctuary at 116 Rue Cartier\, Roxboro. It’s for church staff\, clergy\, lay leaders\, volunteers and\, in fact\, anyone! Please feel free to share it with any organizations with whom your church partners. The session is on Zoom to be easily accessible to all\, and it’s free. \nWhen I met with Literacy Unlimited to plan this\, I was astounded to learn that people who do not read or write well avoid any situation where they might feel `less than’ — and that there are simple ways we\, as churches\, can be more equitable and welcoming. It was eye-opening. \nEveryone knows someone who lives with low literacy — even if they keep it well hidden.
