Executive Minister

Email: RLambie@united-church.ca

Reverend Rosemary Lambie’s role is Executive Minister for East Central Ontario Regional Council (RC 11), Eastern Ontario Outaouais Regional Council (RC 12) and Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council (RC 13), which together comprise approximately 450 communities of faith. She is the senior staff and executive officer of the Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council and its Executive team. All of the Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council staff report to the Executive Minister.

Rosemary’s focus is to provide leadership, counsel and support for the governance and oversight of the administration of Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council, supervise staff, and engage the Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council in the priorities and decisions of the General Council of the United Church of Canada. General Council deployed staff of the Office of Vocation and the Philanthropy Unit will work in parallel relationships with the all three regional councils. She communicates and interprets the decisions and perspectives of the Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council and its Executive team to the General Council, other regional councils and communities of faith, and fulfills the duties outlined in The Manual (2019) Section C.3.4.

Rosemary’s life experience, balancing pastoral ministry while raising four sons born less than five years apart has been excellent training for the juggling required in her role. She leans strongly towards organization, especially using colours to separate files, and she sees the benefits of basic guidelines while also wanting to encourage new ideas. As a grandmother of eight young grandchildren, she highly values family, constantly seeking ways to keep balance in life and wanting the church that has raised and supported her to be teachers for the generations that follow. Rosemary has a primary office in Lachine, Québec, but she will often be seen with a guitar in one hand and an coffee cup in the other as she travels extensively from East Central Ontario through Québec.
