I am (Rev.) Ian Smith, a retired, ordained United Church of Canada clergy person, living in a small town just east of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (within the bounds of the Eastern Ontario Outaouais Region Council. I am also a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).
Aside from my own personal journeys with family members and friends, I also had plenty of experiences with death, dying and bereavement during 38 years of congregational ministry. During the last 18+ years or so of that time, I also served as the main Spiritual Caregiver in a residential Hospice/Palliative Care centre in the West Island area of Montreal, Quebec.
I am excited to announce the soon-to-be-launched “GRIEF RADIO – A Podcast About Grief” in collaboration with my friend, Dr. Vivianne LaRiviere, a resident of Nova Scotia, Canada. Vivianne is the Founder, Director and Co-Host of GRIEF RADIO; I am the Co-Administrator and Co-Host. We have been collaborating on the development of this project for a while. More details about us and the podcast are included in the attached prospectus. (Currently, the griefradio.ca website is still under development)

Who is this podcast for? Anyone who has experienced any kind of loss, whether it be the death of a loved one, loss of a relationship, loss of independence, loss of hope in our very troubled world. These are but a few of the reasons why we can find ourselves living in – and with – grief.
