Come Away, Rest, and Reconnect
HOW TO MINISTER FAITHFULLY AND HOPEFULLY IN A POST-CHRISTENDOM CHURCH?
A retreat unlike any other. This is a retreat for all who minister (ordained, commissioned, candidates, retired clergy, DLMs). There is no business to attend to. This is a time to reconnect with each other and with the sacred story. A time to be spiritually nourished without any specific responsibilities. A time to meet colleagues and make new friends. It is a time of soaking in scripture, seeing it creatively from multiple perspectives, connecting with one another and preparing ourselves emotionally, spiritually and physically for the Advent season. Retreat Details
We will explore a story from scripture, playfully bringing its good news alive again. Through creative arts, movement and the connection with our life experiences, we will let the characters in the story speak to us.
The facilitator Rev. Angelika Piché has trained in the European holistic method of “Bibliodrama” and will offer this inspiring approach to Bible interpretation at our retreat. All you need to bring is curiosity and comfortable clothing. In addition to the facilitated time, there will be plenty of free time to linger over lunch, journal, or wander the grounds.
It will take place at Shalom House in Alexandria, Ontario, near the Québec border. This retreat is an opportunity to deepen our scriptural engagement and connect with one another.

The retreat includes:
- Two nights’ accommodation
- Two breakfasts
- Two dinners
- Three lunches
- Time for rest, reflection, prayer, and fellowship
Habitat Restoration
- Single room: $475
- Shared room: $400
Transportation is not included.
A formal receipt can be provided by the Nakonha:ka Regional Council, and congregational continuing education funds can usually be used toward the cost of the retreat.

Limited Spaces Available
There are a maximum of 25 spaces, depending on accommodation arrangements.
Priority will be given to ministry personnel who have not previously participated in this type of retreat. After that priority, registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Because spaces are limited, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.If the retreat reaches capacity, a waiting list will be available.
Registration & Cancellation
Registration will remain open until October 1, 2026, subject to availability. Please note that fees are due two weeks prior to the retreat and are non-refundable.
Your registration is only confirmed once both your space and accommodation have been confirmed. Please contact the retreat organizers before submitting payment, as spaces are limited and accommodation availability may change: Nakonhaka@united-church.ca

2. Wait for confirmation
We will confirm your space and availability within 1–2 business days. Once your spot is confirmed, you will receive the registration and payment link.

Complete the registration form and payment, then you’re all set!
