Program Support Minister for Youth and Young Adults
As of January 1, 2019, Shanna began serving Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council (formerly 13) as Program Support minister for Youth and Young Adults. She might not be that new to many of you; she has been working for the former Quebec Sherbrooke Presbytery, Quebec Presbytery and Montreal and Ottawa conferences in various roles over the past 8 years. She has a background in Arts Education and received her B.Ed. at Bishop’s University in 2011. She have always loved working with kids and teens and education is a passion of hers, but after a year of supply teaching, she decided that Youth Ministry was her true calling and has been trying to make that her primary occupation ever since!
In her new role, Shanna will be continuing to support and run existing programs in Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council, such as Youth Forum, Camps and wider church YAYA gatherings. She will also be planning new programming, providing education and training opportunities to volunteers, and connecting and networking the different youth ministries in our region. She hopes to visit many churches and get to know everyone better. Because she is working full time, she is also available for consultation and pastoral care of youth and young adults who might not have a home church.
Shanna’s office is based in Sherbrooke, but she is available by phone, video conference or email anywhere! She will be travelling around as much as she can, so stay tuned for events she may be hosting in your neighbourhood.
