United Spirit Camp is a ministry of the Nakonha:ka Regional Council of the United Church of Canada. Normally running as a week-long sleep-away camp, due to the pandemic, we shifted to an online Day camp programming model for 2021. The mission of United Spirit Camp is to “create a space where the spirit can act, and to be a safe and open place for kids to connect, learn and grow.”
Tasks & Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for working in collaboration with the United Spirit Camp committee, as well as under the supervision of the Program support minister for youth and young adults.
- Independently work online and in-person (*pending COVID-19 Public Health Guidelines)
- Assemble and distribute “Camp in a Box” packages to families across the region.
- Create pre-recorded content for You-Tube and Social media, for promotion and to provide additional activities for camper families
- Develop Bilingual programming to be launched online for 3 weeks (June 28 – July 16, 2021)
Skills & Assets
- Communicate efficiently and professionally in both English and French
- Able to collaborate and work on a team
- Experience working with children and youth
Digital Skills
- Proficient in hosting and using Zoom or other platforms for meetings
- Proficient in Social Media (Instagram, Facebook etc.)
- Proficient in creating video content
Additional Assets
- Familiar with United Church of Canada theology
