What is Youth Forum?

YoFo is a weekend retreat for high school and CEGEP youth organized by folks from the United Church of Canada.  It is planned by youth and young adults, for the youth! It has been going on in this region for more than 40 years!

What will we do there?

At Youth Forum we will play silly games, eat yummy food, make music, learn new things, meet new people, participate in Worship, explore and deepen spirituality and faith and create community.

Youth Forum is hard to explain, it is best lived!

Why should I go? I don’t usually go to Church…

Everyone is welcome at Youth Forum. It is organized by members of a Protestant, Christian Church, however people of all faiths or no faith are always welcome. This is not an event to convert folks, but to explore meaningful relationships and new ideas. We are an open-minded and diverse community.

When is the next Youth Forum happening?

The next Youth Forum is November 4-6, 2022 at the Memorial Hall Community Centre in Georgeville QC. The cost is 50$ for the weekend.

The theme for Youth Forum this fall is “Activism 101 – How to decide what to care about in a world full of challenges”

We will break the conversation into three parts:

  1. The idea of collective responsibility, and how we are called by the church and God to work for justice,
  2. How we go about using our energy and skills to streamline into a focus and choose personal priorities. We want to have some break off groups to chat about different major issues like Climate change, Indigenous reconciliation, Anti-Racism etc..
  3. We want to discuss how to avoid the pitfalls of activist burnout and compassion fatigue.
