Just Solutions celebrates 20 years!
20 ans de service-accompagnement de Solutions justes
A 90+ crowd of the MCM Community of Friends gathered in May to celebrate 20 years of legal services to the migrant population: community colleagues, lawyers, UCC supporters, MCM staff, board, volunteers, students and elders-in-residence and, last but not least, individuals and families who now live in safety thanks to the tireless efforts of the clinic team over the years.
Au cours de la soirée, nous avons eu l’occasion de remercier pour leur travail infatigable des figures clés qui ont rendu possible le fonctionnement et le succès de Solutions Justes depuis 20 ans. De plus, nous avons présenté le nouveau projet de la clinique : le 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑗𝑒𝑡 𝐷𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑖̈𝑑𝑒𝑠 : 𝐷𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑒́ 𝑠𝑎𝑛𝑠 𝑝𝑟𝑒́𝑗𝑢𝑔𝑒́𝑠, qui vise à documenter et à plaider pour un accès sans barrières des personnes migrantes sans statut et à statut précaire aux services juridiques, ainsi que à sensibiliser pour combattre les préjugés, les stéréotypes et les mythes envers cette population.
As we caught up with friends and former staff and students (some coming from neighbouring provinces!), we enjoyed delicious food provided by the Women Weaving their Dreams Catering collective, and kicked up our heels to the spirited notes of Rick Goldman`s Bagg St. Klezmer Band. Rick was presented with a painting by Sudanese artist Hind Ahmed for his many years of service as MCM supervising lawyer. Many thanks to all who made this anniversary one to remember – with special hats off to our masters of ceremonies, MCM program consultant Norman Robert Boie.

Nakonha:ka World Refugee Day – Journée Mondial des Réfugiés
Un autre rassemblement avec 150 personnes a eu lieu le 20 Juin pour la Journée mondiale des réfugiés. La kiosque de la MCM a reçu beaucoup de visiteurs-visiteuses intéressé(e)s aux services et aux programmes que nous offrons.
MCM board member and UCC student minister, Ade Akintayo, joined MCM and our community partners over the past couple of months to plan a memorable WRD with Nigerian music, dancers and food! What an exciting event! Bravo Ade!

Con el fin de las prácticas de nuestros estudiantes de trabajo social y derecho del 23-24 en abril, estamos más que encantados de darle la bienvenida a Daiana Gomez a nuestro equipo de la clínica jurídica este verano. Daiana acaba de terminar su segundo año de derecho en la Universidad de Montreal y ya está aportando una valiosa contribución al trabajo de la clínica.
