“Warm Fuzzies” at United Spirit Camp Online 2020
United Spirit Camp online was a big success. In these uncertain and disconnecting times, we wanted to be able reach out to our camper community and remind them that we love them and miss them! When things are safer we will be here to welcome them to camp....
Colours in all their Complexity: Anti-Racist Reading for Families
I want to begin here today with a caveat; while I think many contemporary issues young families face can be tackled with a beautiful children’s book in hand, I am wary of education as being the singular approach that many white people take to combatting racism. We all...
A Collective Prayer from YAYA
A prayer written collectively by the YAYA: Creator God, be with us as we struggle to process, learn and understand the magnitude of the injustice in our world. Help us be brave in facing our own prejudices. Help our eyes to see what is happening. Be with the people on...
United Spirit Camp Esprit Uni: 2020 Camp Season
It is with very mixed feelings that the United Spirit Camp committee has decided that we will not be holding any face-to-face programming at the Camp D’action Biblique site this summer. Even though we will miss everyone we know we can keep camp spirit alive. We all...
Online Youth Forum – April 18, 2020
Letter from Shanna Bernier:
I am writing to you this strange, rainy Easter Monday with sadness in my heart that the Youth of Conseil régional Nakonha:ka Regional Council cannot gather in person in Cowansville as they were supposed to this coming weekend. I am sad I will not be going to Costco to buy hundreds of dollars of food and snacks to feed a church full of teenagers. I am sad we cannot hug and sit in a circle on the floor.
While I am sad, I am so grateful. I am grateful that this community it stronger and more resilient than any pandemic, and that we have found ways to connect despite physical distancing.
This coming Saturday, on April 18 we will be having a special gathering all afternoon to mark the time which would have been spent together at youth forum. I am hoping we have a good amount of participation!
I would ask that everyone who wishes to join please fill in a short registration, as we usually do, so I can update mailing addresses and keep track of who might join. Your info will not be shared with anyone without your consent. The registration link is here:
This Youth Forum Online will start at 12:30 and end around 4:30. We will take a few breaks and if people cannot stay the whole time or need to arrive late they can, but for the best experience I encourage everyone to come at 12:30.
Please contact Shanna Bernier with any questions, and for details about how to connect.

Rendez-vous Online – August 11 to 14, 2020
Rendez-vous 2020 will be going ahead 11-14 August 2020 – just in a different way.
2020 is turning out to be a year of the unexpected and that means Rendez-vous 2020 will be a Rendez-vous unlike any other. Due to the ongoing health crisis, we won’t be able to hold a large gathering in Calgary this summer. It’s up to us to dream together what it means to be a community of faith, even if we can’t all be in the same (physical) space.
Through real-time online events, recordings, and DIY workshop kits, we will celebrate bold faith, brave space and brazen grace. Here’s what you can expect:
- Inspiring speakers, powerful worship and singing your favorite songs
- Fun, engaging and interactive workshops and activities
- New friends from across the country and around the world
- Awesome t-shirts (yep, it will be a Rendez-vous to remember!)
